Cover your hair from the sun - I know this seems unfortunate however the sun's rays are so powerful in penetrating through to your hair you want to protect it from the sun. Wear a hat or scarf to cover your hair and protect it from the sun.
Use a leave in treatment - you can use a leave in conditioner or a serum. The heat will actually help the hair to open up its cuticles and allow the treatment to penetrate deep in to the cortex enabling the hair to become stronger.
Use a heat protecting product - ok so I know they are mainly for heated styling however if you think about it these products work to bounce the heat back off creating a barrier for those sharp rays. Its a bit like sunscreen but for your hair.
Use a shampoo and conditioner for blonde/lightened hair - these products are packed with all the nutrients you need to keep a healthy head of hair. There are so many out there make sure you ask your stylist for info.
Tie your hair up - tie your hair up, out of the way and wear a hat. This way your hair won't be flying around for those harsh rays to penetrate into your hair. Leaving your hair feeling less damaged.
There are more ways to care for your lightened locks, these are the main points I advise for my clients. Give it a go and see how much better your hair feels from being in the sun but caring for your hair.
